Omicron the Killer - a film by World Health Organization

Stop calling Omicron mild, it's messing up our agenda

 Social   January 8, 2022

Feeling that the public might get bored with the current events, and God forbids, even start to be against the current anti-Corona policies, WHO Director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a gentleman with a dubious past to say at least, feels the urge to reheat a little bit of the fear mongering soup with a new title: Omicron is 'killing people' and should not be called 'mild'.

Obviously, a lot of things or situations are killing people on this planet. Heck, even people are killing other people on a daily basis. Cancer might come to mind when thinking about human killers. But what about Omicron?

Omicron appeared sometime in November last year, and by luck and now getting more data on it, it seems to be way milder than the previous Delta variant (which was already milder than the previous). For the vast majority of people, it's only about a couple of days of discomfort. So let's see some official numbers before we dive into the WHO commentary.

Number of infections looks as expected, with a big rise starting with November 2021.

But then the hospitalizations (1122) and intensive care unit entries (419) are getting smaller and smaller. And they haven't been high to start with.

Now, let's see what WHO is preaching:

(WHO) warned on Thursday against describing the Omicron variant as "mild" amid a "tsunami of cases" overwhelming health systems across the world.

You can see how overwhelmed are the health systems, here in the Netherlands (and it's not a singular case by no means). Now, if from 25k positive tests per day, half will arrive in the hospital, that might be a problem. But when you have 150 daily entries (which is 0.006% from infections!), it's hardly an overwhelmed system.

The WHO Chief is saying also some odd things like:

... this is an underestimate of cases because ... the number of positive self-tests not registered, and burdened surveillance systems that miss cases around the world.

Surveillance systems that miss the cases?? What the heck?

while Omicron does appear to be less severe compared to Delta, especially in those vaccinated, it does not mean it should be categorized as 'mild'.

Why not? What's your argument here? And also, there is no especially in those vaccinated. Everyone is better due to the mild version of the virus, not as a direct consequence of the vaccines. Those did nothing to stop spreading the Omicron variant. And not long ago, everyone in the pharma was ready to adapt the vaccines, for the new variant, remember? That good they were. And now they're forcing boosters for the population less than 6 months from the last jab. Because they're so good, obviously.

Just like previous variants; Omicron is hospitalising people and it is killing people," he stressed.

It's by far NOT as the previous variants. Omicron is hospitalizing people like any other disease; but the numbers matter and they are low and manageable. And if we're talking about killings, also the social and economical measures of those dirty politicians are killing people.

"Booster after booster in a small number of countries will not end the pandemic while billions remain completely unprotected," he emphasised.

That's utterly crap. If the boosters or vaccines will really work, they will stop the pandemic in a second, now with such a mild version. But they're not. And why the unprotected billions are at risk? No idea. And also no explanation why a country with high vaccination rate cannot stop the pandemic, unless everyone is doing it the same? It's like you're saying that everyone should stay poor, until the poverty is completely erased from this planet.

But you get the gist: when everyone on this planet will get all the available boosters, then, maybe, they will stop the pandemic. Or not. Why do you trust them?

This is a major fuck-up at a global scale. And it just started.
