Energy prices by the end of 2020 NL
Economy December 2, 2020
The prices are taken from a random energy provider, but the structure is the same across the land, with taxes/distribution costs being pretty much similar.
So, electricity (€/kWh):
Price |
Tax zone 1 | Additional tax renewable energy | Total
Normal hours tariff | 0.08580 | 0.11822 | 0.03303 | 0.24 |
Outside peak hours tariff | 0.06901 | 0.22 |
Daily costs:
Distribution costs (charged by the energy provider): 0.18 €/day 5.58 €/month
Network management costs (charged by transport provider - e.g. Liander) 0.70 €/day 21.74 €/month
And now natural gas (€/m3):
Price | Tax zone 1 | Additional tax renewable energy | Total
Generic tariff | 0.29706 | 0.40301 | 0.09378 | 0.80 |
Daily costs:
Distribution costs (charged by the energy provider): 0.18 €/day 5.58 €/month
Network management costs (charged by transport provider - e.g. Liander) 0.54 €/day 16.96 €/month
Proportion of taxes in the final price is roughly 63%.
Basically, having an energy contract for gas and electricity will cost you around 50 €/month in daily costs plus the regular consumption (which is as shown above, 63% taxes).
As a silver lining in the whole schema, by the end of the year when the energy company will regularize costs (to see actually if you need to pay extra or you already paid too much) there is a tax credit applied, that varies from year to year (imposed by the tax authorities) and that will count against your paid taxes in energy. For this example, the tax credit is around 525 euro (for the whole year)
