South African Researches are COVID Party Poopers

Good news are killing the effort to vaccinate the global population ten times more

 Social   January 9, 2022

Just a couple of days after the head chief of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tried to keep the Covid fear mongering party alive, the South African researchers dared to raise their voice and declare that the whole pandemic might as well be over now.

To wit, a study of patients infected with COVID at a large hospital in Pretoria, the city where the first outbreak of the omicron variant was recorded, revealed a short-lived wave that moved with "unprecedented speed" and caused much milder illness than earlier strains.

The numbers are encouraging:

Ultimately, the study at Biko analyzed records of 466 patients from the current wave and 3,976 from previous waves of the pandemic. It also found the following, according to Bloomberg:

  • Hospital stays averaged 4 days compared with 8.8 in previous waves

  • The mean age of those admitted was 39 compared with almost 50 in earlier waves

  • Admissions to intensive-care units dropped to 1% of patients from 4.3%

  • Admissions peaked at 108 compared with 213 during the delta wave

And the conclusion straightforward:

That suggests “omicron may be a harbinger of the end of the epidemic phase of the Covid pandemic, ushering in its endemic phase.”

But you won't see any government telling you that this is good news. Nope! What you'll hear more and more if that you need more boosters (let's say 2 per year for now), you will need to do them on time otherwise your QR code will expire, you need to start vaccinate your kids (starting at age 5) even if that makes no bloody sense at all, you have to get used to lockdowns and get used to be forcibly vaccinated if you want to be allowed at your workplace or in a restaurant.

This is what happens at this point in the EU, at least.
