Earth could reach crucial ocean 'tipping point' sooner that thought, in the article title we read:
This ‘tipping point’ would be catastrophic for Europe but scientists aren't sure when we'll reach it
So they know it's coming sooner, but no idea when. No idea also how do you define 'sooner' or when they though that the point will actually be.
We are blessed with a true terror on climate issues:
It would mean severe global climate repercussions, with Europe bearing the brunt of the consequences.
Further in the article we find out that we have a model...
Scientists have successfully modeled a climate tipping point that would plunge large parts of Europe into a deep freeze...
Melting ice sheets could cause its collapse - but when or how likely is it to happen?
The rest of the article is interesting as well:
"What it cannot (and does not) say is how close the tipping point is because it shows that there is insufficient data to make a statistically reliable estimate of that."

So please add to your climate related vocabulary a new one: tipping point.
