Pennyworth - good TV series, stupid ending

How to kill a good series (Spoiler alert!)

 Movies   November 13, 2021

If you want to take a look at another TV series with a fucked up ending, look no more!

First, for those who are not familiar with it, a few wisdom words from the Wikipedia:

Pennyworth explores the early life of the titular Wayne family butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who is forming his own security company in an alternate universe in which Hitler and Nazi Germany won World War II,[4] and in which London combines aspects of the 1950s and 1960s with invented events and practices, such as a modern civil war and televised public executions.

Alfred becomes a target of the Raven Society, a group conspiring to take over the British government, and begins working against them alongside American agents of the No Name League, Thomas Wayne and Martha Kane, the future parents of Bruce Wayne.[5]

Pennyworth was developing quite well through the second season. Building some tensions, building some characters. A while everyone was expecting a mind blowing ending full of Stormcloud, the things ended up like this:

Well, if you didn't watch the series, you might find this just a regular action heroes kind of movie. But if you watched the second season, you'll be like... "WTF?!...".

Quick explanation: the most deadly weapon developed called Stormcloud (poison gas) fails to deliver since Alfie Pennyworth cleverly founds a solution: to ingest the container with the gas. But he's not doing himself, but his ex-colleague Gully. Instead of dying, like any other normal human being, he's getting transformed into some sort of blue Hulk (see above). Awesome stuff.

So yeah, so much effort just to be blown off by an ending. It almost looks like the producers were in a hurry for a pint in the pub and they realized they're late.

Not sure if the Season 3 will be there or not, but for what's what, this series ended here.
