In an (not so) unexpected turn of events—and perhaps sick of (and a little jealous of) Maduro’s dance style—Trump decided it was time for action. Acting as a true hero of the free Western world, he ordered the kidnapping of Maduro from Venezuela.
Trump is a man of action and, as an angel of peace, has been extremely busy since taking the reins of the United States of Great America—fighting evil ISIS forces in Somalia on Feb 1, 2025, bombing nuclear sites in Iran on June 22, 2025, on behalf of Israel, and striking the Houthis in Yemen on March 15, 2025.
Shall we even mention the constant work against evil in Syria, bombed as well in December 2025 ?
Or maybe Nigeria, December 25?
This continues a long history of US interventions in South America over the last century, with actions like occupation of Cuba and Puerto Rico in 1898, backing separatists in Panama (1903), occupation again in Cuba 1906-1909, coup in Nicarauga 1909, occupation of the same country between 1912-33, military intervention in Cuba 1912, coup in Mexico 1913, occupation of Dominican Republic 1916-24, coup in Cuba 1933, Guatemala coup 1954 (the CIA orchestrated the overthrow of democratically elected President Jacobo Árbenz, whose land reforms threatened the United Fruit Company), Paraguay the same year, backing civil war in Guatemala 1960-1996, failed invasion in Cuba 1961 (CIA-led Bay of Pigs Invasion), assasination in Dominican Republic in 1961 (Dictator Rafael Trujillo, long a U.S. ally, was killed with weapons supplied by the CIA, which had turned against him), coup Ecuador 1963, Bolivia in 1964 (against President Víctor Paz Estenssoro), Chile coup in 1973, Operation Condor 1975-1983 against 6 military dictatorships, Nicarauga 1981-1990 rebel insurgency (The CIA organized, funded, and trained the Contras to overthrow the Sandinista government), occupation of Haiti in 1994 and so forth and so on.
The work to bring peace didn't stop there. Venezuela finally entered the ring with the kidnapping of Maduro and some collateral bombing on January 3, 2026.
Trump, the greatest strategic genius of all time, had prepared this strike for a long while. He had taken the liberty of practicing on different boats—around 26 of them, either in Venezuelan waters or international ones—killing alleged narco-terrorists (around 95). This demonstrated not only perseverance but also the complete annihilation of international law.
Finally, Maduro was brought to the USA to face harsh justice on some quite bogus charges, but the law would not be stopped by such petty details. And you might say it was all about drugs, no? Wrong!
Trump immediately switched gears and pointed out the obvious: OIL.
Dig, baby, dig!

“We should run the country properly,” Trump stated. “We should run the country with law and order. We should run the country where we can take advantage of the economics of what they have – which is valuable oil and valuable other things.”

In his beautiful mind, these actions probably make perfect sense to Trump, and he feels strongly that he is right. International law, having been so blatantly trashed, only seems to matter when someone powerful decides it does. The so-called EU leaders offer their support, even as they drown in a word salad about legality and moral high ground.

So, what's next? Well, Trump continues to dream. Colombia? Probably. More strikes on Iran? Why not—Israel is still hot on the matter. Greenland?! Hell yes, it's "surrounded by Russian submarines and Chinese ships." If your country holds something of interest for Trump, you might just become the next target.
