Since no good deed goes unpunished, a lot of the Dutch people that believed last year that getting in line and be jabbed is a civic duty, and that is the only way to get out of this pandemic, are set to find out, the hard way, that's hardly the case.
Since the Netherlands was so eager to synchronize with the European Union rules (not implemented or acknowledged by many states at this point), some consequences started to appear. And those imply, that starting with 4th February, some corona passes (aka QR codes) are set to expire.
And by some, we're talking about 540.000 people.
This is happening, as Dutch Health Minister Kuipers says, due to the fact that those people are not already in line for the boosters.

The validity of the CTB (coronatoegangsbewijs) is limited to 180 days after infection and 270 days after vaccination. According to Kuipers, the shorter validity period may lead to more people getting a booster vaccination.
Well, the expiring passes didn't convince the people to take the booster when full propaganda was in full swing. Shortening the validity will definitely won't help, but it will make them even more pissed off at the government, that's for sure.
Karoline Edtstadler, for example, the Minister for EU and Constitution, commented regarding the situation in Austria:
...that mandatory vaccination is an "interference with human rights". "But in this case, this interference can be justified," she adds. "We have the need to get out of the pandemic and we know that vaccination is the only way to get out of it and to get back to a normal life."
So yeah, it's an abuse, but fuck if we care. It's necessary. But the last part is the joke of the year: that vaccination is the only way to get out. Really?!
First of all, in the Netherlands we heard this lie last year: politicians (like Rutte and De Jonge) were explaining to everyone how getting jabbed will get us back our normal life. That was a blatant lie, during the year we had lockdowns, corona pass checks, closed business, travel restrictions, intermittently closed schools, and hardly a normal life. Now they're playing the same card with the boosters. They are people that are still believing in the righteousness of the official actions. Cannot explain why.
Secondly, the vaccination is doing shite preventing transmission of the virus. Luckily this variant is mild, and the hospitalizations are normal, given the amount number of infections. But that's exactly what matters to impose mandates and having comments like that one above: the infection numbers. We have flu seasons in the past years as well, but we didn't count. Or force everyone to have a anti-flu shot.
The Austria made a law to continue until Jan 2024. Than means 24 months. If we consider a 9 months interval, we have almost 3 boosters to be taken. So I suggest people, in order to have their normal life, to go and grab 3 at the time.
That's the only way to get out.
